What is the Christian Life?
The Christian Life is essentially Christ. Christ is everything to the Christian. Christ is the namesake and the source of life for every Christian. Jesus Christ actually lives within each Christian.
The Christian is not just another member of the human race with religious beliefs. The Christian is a new creature with different appetites than the normal man. The Christian has undergone a new birth. The Christian has become a new man.
The Christian, as any newborn, undergoes growth. The Spirit of God feeds the Christian the pure milk of the Word of God. The Spirit of God is responsible for the growth of the newborn Christian as a parent to a child. The Christian infant must submit to the parenting of the Spirit of God. The goal for the Christian's life is maturity. A mature adult Christian exhibits the character and personality of Jesus Christ.
Let us feed together on this pure milk that we have from our Father since we, as Christians, are brothers!
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him. — Romans 8:15-17
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" — Galatians 4:6
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me. — Galatians 2:20
But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. — Romans 6:22
Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin. — Romans 6:4-7
Having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. — Colossians 2:12
And raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus. — Ephesians 2:6
If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. — Colosians 3:1-3
But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. — 2 Corinthians 3:18
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. — 2 Peter 3:18
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. — 2 Timothy 3:16-17
