God has a passion for family life. Clearly expressed in His Word, God is gathering His sons and daughters from all the peoples who have populated His earth.

In the Beginning

God, in the beginning, existed all alone. But, it was not out of loneliness that His Family Plan was established. It was out of His desire for meaningful relationship.

All-Powerful, All-Knowing, Always-Present, God created a perfect habitation for the first family. The earth and all it contains was fashioned perfectly for our ancestral parents Adam and Eve. His kids had the best this world ever had to offer. God even planted them a special garden for their safety and comfort.

Created in God's likeness, together the three of them enjoyed intimate fellowship packed with meaning and purpose. Can you imagine a walk through the Garden of Eden with Living Love? Out of His protective concern, God gave Adam and Eve special guidance knowing His enemy Satan would challenge His supreme love for them.

Satan came against them! Why didn't Adam and Eve call on God who loved them most? The creation was spoiled, the beauty of their habitation dimmed, but, most sadly, their choice brought a change in their relationships to the Holy One who gave them life. Their choice still affects you and I today. How could one who did not love them turn them against the one who did? Simply put, Satan turned them onto themselves. "Do you want to live for God or do you want to live for yourself?" was his suggestion. How easy it is to choose against the humble love of God. No person has ever desired to be loved as much as God desires our love.

God is Life and therefore hates disobedience because it always brings death. Not only physical death but spiritual separation from Himself and destruction of a relationship He deeply desires with us. Adam and Eve were created for life with God, not death and separation from Him.

We have a Choice

Adam's separation from God was a self-inflicted death. He committed spiritual suicide. With the consequence of certain destruction, he chose to disobey. You and I will always reap the consequences of the choices we sow into our lives. God has faithfully seen to it that, if we plant corn seeds, we get corn on the cob, not an acorn squash. When dogs mate they get puppies, not kittens. And when we obey His plan for life, we are blessed. If, on the other hand, you have to have it your own way, you will reap what you sow. How good of God to give us such a predictable principle of life.

Satan's lies had turned Adam and Eve onto themselves and against the truth God had given them for protection. Indeed, their eyes were opened, and the separating power of death came in like a flood. Now they wondered in fear what would God do when He found out? Like Satan, they had underestimated the power of God who knew beforehand that their selfish desires would lead them astray. God had already prepared the Lake of Fire for Satan and all who follow him in rebellion against God.

God is merciful, kind, tender, humble and forgiving. He was not experimenting with the life He put in Adam and Eve. He knew them fully before He created them in His image. And God's passion for them included a plan that would redeem them through faith in His Promise to Satan that a woman would give birth to a child who would destroy the work of death he had accomplished in their lives.

Finally Adam and Eve came to their senses. They repented and accepted God's provision of animal skin garments to cover their nakedness. How sad that God had to shed the life of innocent animals in order to make a way for Adam and Eve to fulfill His plan to have a world full of people in His likeness who could trust in Him for life.

Jesus Christ is His Family Plan

Through the millenniums, God's Word has recorded His many works for our knowing of Him. Accordingly, we know now that Jesus Christ is the One, born of woman, who destroys the work of Satan on behalf of those who would believe God for life. Plainly put, God's Word says:

"But as many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them He (God) gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name. — John 1:12

When we come to our senses, like Adam and Eve, we too are ready to trust God and receive His covering of the Life of Jesus Christ. For it is written,

"This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!" — Matthew 17:5

Life is not about you and me. It is about God and you and me. Do you want to know what life is really all about? There is no need to wait another day not knowing that God by Christ has made a way for you to have the quality of life that will bring honor to Him. God is ready when you are to supply all you need to realize that He alone is the Way and the Truth and the Life.

"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." — James 4:7-8
