Meth Intervention

Intervention is an invitation to step out of meth addiction and step into a planned recovery. Intervention does not require consent of the user in all cases.

There are many levels of intervention, but all are relational. Someone intervenes in someone's life to catalyze and empower change. Some examples of intervention are:

  • A request for permission to read a meth tract with a meth user
  • A simple invitation to attend a meth rally or a meth support group meeting
  • A more complicated, planned meeting with the meth user and friends and family members who are deeply concerned and want to help.

Depending on the level of intervention and the depth of the addiction, timing and planning of the intervention can be more critical. It might be important to have treatment and medical assistance options fully planned out. If criminal charges have already been filed, this adds more difficulty.

Many addiction meetings are open to friends and family. Call one near you for more information.
